How One Way Got Started — And Why It Still Matters
One Way Driving School began with a simple goal: give local students the kind of driver education that actually prepares them for the real world. Founded by longtime instructor “Coach Johnny” and his wife Alice, One Way was built from the ground up right here in San Marcos — and it’s stayed rooted in the community ever since.
With over 30 years in safety instruction and a deep background in coaching, Johnny brought a practical, no-nonsense structure to the program. Today, that same approach is delivered by a tight-knit team, including his daughter Michelle, who brings energy and clarity to the classroom. We’ve trained hundreds of students — and we treat every one like they matter. Because they do.

You’ll find One Way Driving School at the Rio Vista Business Center in San Marcos — just off Uhland Road and minutes from downtown. We're proud to serve students from across Hays County, including Kyle, Buda, New Braunfels, and surrounding communities. Our facility is easy to access, with available parking, scheduled drive times, and a clean, focused learning space.
